In these Coronavirus quarantine times, it’s easy to get bored with your local TV station. Especially if you live in a small country in central Europe like me, where Netflix is just a poor excuse for a streaming service (yes, “not available in your country” is like my mantra by now) and the rest, well don’t exist here.
But in this day and age, thanks to the folks of the internet watching TV from another part of the world is not that hard.
What you will need:
– Raspberry Pi 3 or higher (or any android box) + peripherals (mouse, keyboard – or like me an all-in-one remote)
– LibreELEC
– 5-8 minutes of your time
If you didn’t get LibreELEC installed to your Raspberry Pi yet don’t worry we will cover that in another tutorial but it’s really easy to do (just follow the link provided above).
When you boot up Kodi first head to the Settings menu
Head on to System
Now find Add-ons and toggle Unknown sources
Select Yes
Now head back to the System page and click on the File manager icon
Click Add source
Hit enter to select <None>
Now type in the path exactly as shown in the screenshot (yes with the ending / as well) and click OK
Enter a random name of the source and click OK
Head back to System and click Add-ons
Click Install from zip file
Select the repo we added earlier
Select the .ZIP file that is shown
Wait a bit for the repo to be installed. A notification will pop-up in the top right corner when it’s done.
Now click on Install from repository
Click on the Diamond Build Repo or wherever Marilyn Monroe pops-up 🙂
Head to Video add-ons
Now select 7of9 live (TVtap) and click Install and then just agree to install the additional add-ons
Again we are playing the waiting game and the pop-up in the top right corner
And that is it! Now just head over to the Add-ons in the main Kodi menu open up TVTap and select what you want to watch!
This information will hopefully help you to stay at home (like you are supposed to) in the weeks to come. Stay safe and stay healthy.
In addition to this, I would like to state that Slurp-Ramen.com has nothing to do with hosting any of the software specified above, nor does it host or help host any of the streams for the TV channels provided by TVTap.
